Name: Emily Bush

Age: 4

We are excited to announce the winner of our Summer Kid’s Kontest:  Emily Bush!  I had a delightful conversation with Emily and her mom, Amy.  We chatted about her artwork, what she wants to be when she grows up, and Klunkers!  Here’s the interview:

Skaie:  How did you learn about Klunkers and “Big Bug Lunch!”?

Emily:  We read it at my school, Mission Lutheran School.

Skaie:  How long have you been drawing?

Emily:  Since I was one...I’ve been drawing for 3 years.

Skaie:  What’s your favorite color?

Emily:  Pink and purple.

Skaie: What’s your favorite thing to draw?

Emily:  Pumpkin patches.  I like to draw what I like and what I think about-pumpkin patches, Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, rainbows, and butterflies.

Skaie:  That’s fantastic, I’d love to see more of your drawings!  What do you want to be when you grow up?

Emily:  A ballerina-I’ve taken one class...I want to take more.

Skaie:  Do you have a question for Klunkers?

Emily: Yes, I have a few questions.  What does Klunkers want for his birthday?

Skaie:   He really wants a big bowl of popcorn.  He loves popcorn!

Emily:  How old will Klunkers be on his next birthday?

Skaie:  Well, he just had his 6th birthday.  Actually, we thought he was only going to be 5 years old, but found out that the rescue organization wasn’t exactly sure after all.  We took Klunkers to the vet and they told us he was probably around 6. So...Klunkers will be 7 next August 8th, 2010!

Emily:  How does Klunkers like playing with his favorite toy?

Skaie:  He was given a toy monkey he calls “Murphy” from his Grandma Gabriella for Christmas.  He LOVES to nibble on his ears and just hold him in his mouth as he walks around the house.  It’s his best friend and buddy!
